West Klosterman Preserve Tour for December 27th is now FULL
The public tour of the West Klosterman Preserve scheduled for Friday, December 27, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm is now FULL. Please check our event calendar for additional tour date openings.
WKPG will be holding a limited number of tours to provide education and awareness of why it is important to preserve the small slices of Paradise scattered throughout Pinellas and Tampa Bay.
The West Klosterman Preserve is a 14 acre upland site consisting of woods, scrub and open spaces that borders the 76 acre Mariner’s Point Management Area as it moves into lowland and coastal growth. It is an ecosystem that has been undisturbed by development for centuries and provides home and habitat for a wide range of critical plants and animals.
When you tour the site, you will immediately find yourself surrounded by the natural wonder of living things. If you are not already committed to environmental preservation of the small slices of Paradise that remain in Pinellas County, you will leave the West Klosterman Preserve a true believer.
Participating in a tour is easy.
- Donate: Our arrangements with Pinellas County Schools allow us to have tours for donors and major donors, so we do need a donation (if you already donated that works) in order to follow the rules. If you have not made a donation yet, but would like to sign up for a tour, please MAKE A DONATION HERE.
- Sign Waiver: We can accommodate 10 to 15 people on the tour so be sure to reserve your spot and sign the required waiver.
Where to meet: The Preserve gate on West Klosterman.
What to bring: The tour path is not a well cleared trail so it is recommended that you dress appropriately wearing closed toed shoes, sun protection and bring hydration.
Where to park: Parking will be available along the south side of Klosterman Road but please use caution when parking and crossing the street.
The tours are informative, guided by Brad Husserl, a site expert. We look forward to seeing you soon!
